Hello, and welcome! My name is Nandini Das, and I am currently completing my PhD in Economics at Virginia Tech. I will be joining Christopher Newport University as an Assistant Professor of Economics from Fall 2026. My research is primarily in the areas of applied microeconomics, development and agricultural economics. Alongside my research, I care deeply about teaching that helps students think critically and see the relevance of economics in everyday life.

Originally from Kolkata, India, I moved to Blacksburg in 2020 amidst the peak of the pandemic in 2020. I share my home with two beloved cats, Umika and Helena.
